This is the Holy Transfiguration Russian Orthodox Church of Los Angeles. As you approach the off-ramp at Santa Monica boulevard, the church acts as a shining beacon overlooking an otherwise dreary city. Today, on my way to work I got out and took a few pictures of the building, as I was very early.
